When the United States flag becomes worn, torn, faded or soiled, it should be replaced with a new flag. But what do you do with the old one? The answer is not to simply throw it away, but to “retire” it in a dignified way.
To help with that, two Manheim Township Police Officers recently took it upon themselves to build a box for tattered flags. 
Officers Lucas Starsinic and Mark Shivers placed the box outside of Oregon Dairy. Since the placement of the Tattered US Flag Box, the department has collected over 1,800 United States Flags and
that has led 
to the creation of this Amazing Event…

For the Flag Retirement Ceremony, bring your chairs and blankets and if you have a worn, torn, or tattered United States Flag that you would like to properly retire, please bring it along and it will be
retired it with the dignity and respect it deserves.

*Come early to enjoy the corn maze, rides, and games and stay for the Celebration of America Event! Gates open at 10am.  Tickets required.
